Job Title: OAC Math Coach (Classified)
OAC Reading Coach (Classified)
Reporting to: Title Teacher/Building Principal
Location: Santa Fe Trail USD 434, Overbrook Attendance Center
Position Summary:
The Overbrook Attendance Center Reading/Math Coaches will demonstrate a commitment to learning and positively impact student achievement through one-one-one and small group instruction, as well as by providing classroom support to improve student mathematics performance under the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) Model.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Model enthusiasm for learning and teaching
- Support the District’s goals in regards to supporting reading instruction
- Seek, listen, and respond appropriately to suggestions, requests, and concerns
- Implement with fidelity the curricula in mathematics and reading instruction as directed by the supervising teacher with both a small group and classroom setting
- Collaborate and contribute within a professional learning community
- Maintain confidentiality of information and a high level of ethical behavior
- Engage in continuous learning and ongoing professional development
- Ability to structure time and management of multiple priorities
- Monitors individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings (i.e., classroom dismissal, crosswalk duty, etc.) for the purpose of enforcing school rules and procedures
- Assist with progress monitoring and data collection
- Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities that the supervising teacher or Building Administrator may assign
Qualifications Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Certificates/Licenses/Endorsements/Registrations:
Individual must:
- Be currently designated by KSDE as a Highly Qualified certified teacher; or
- Successfully complete the Highly Qualified Paraeducator Online Training and Assessment during the 2023-2024 school year
Qualifications and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Knowledge of and evidence of successful work with adolescents
